International Women's Week Festival

10/3/2019

Recently I attended a couple of events to celebrate International Women's Week.  They were both very enjoyable, interesting and absorbing, organised by WINDO (Women Initiating New Directions Organisation) on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

The image to the right reflects, for me, the common ground we all can share, no matter what age.  They look like female hands, but then I may be wrong.  In fact, what really impressed me about the two (2) events I went to, was the acknowledgment and recognition of the many good and wonderful men in our midst as being an integral part of being a wise woman.

It was really heartening to hear, at these two events how the men and women talked about the  appreciation they had for the women or men in their lives, the respect they had in  each others strengths and weaknesses, and working together to achieve a  desired result.

How I wish that was happening more in the wider community.  Embracing our differences, respecting diverse cultures and living in harmony.

Enjoy.   Narelle Ladd

Live and Let Live

G'day,  Welcome to my first blog ever, my name is Narelle, and I shared a dream to a number of people at a meeting towards the end of January 2018. I invite you to join with me on our Naradell blogs, which I hope will take you and me on a journey of discovery and learning.

As this is my first blog,  I hope you will get to know more about me, over the time through my writings.  In saying that, I love hearing from others who may see things in a different way, or wish to write some heartfelt thoughts of their own about another topic, and through the course of our conversations, we may learn from each other, how enlightening it is to see things from another persons view.

That is not to say, we have to agree with one another, it is enough to feel listened, heartened and acknowledged that what we feel and think matters.  In other words,  "Live and Let Live".

As an example, from my point of view:  The photo above is Mt. Cooroora, I see this mountain from my front deck, but it looks completely different.  From my front deck you can see the track that some people, for reasons of their own, like to walk up, and towards the very top they scramble. or so I am told.  My kids and grandkids have done it many times over the last 30 years or so. If you are driving North on the highway, between Cooroy and Pomona, there is a spot, if you are quick, that the mountain looks like a pyramid, and driving South from Gympie, yet again another view, another shape to one's eyes.  In fact, there are many many ways one could view this beautiful landmark, and see something different.  Nature is such a wonder-full teacher.

Before I go, check out Naradell Inc on Facebook, along with our web page for future events and information.

Enjoy.
