"Information is like compost; it does no good unless you spread it around."
Eliot Coleman - Proponent of Organic Farming
Mental illness affects not only the individual, but also those who care for them, or care about them. This could be family or friends, but whatever the relationship it is important to feel support is available. Gathering of information can provide a greater insight and understanding and we can also learn by sharing our experiences with those who understand. Our meetings are open to all who care for, or care about, those living with a mental illness, or perhaps you care for yourself. All are welcome including those who work or volunteer in the mental health sector. We will often have a Guest Speaker on a variety of topics but will always allow time for friendly chat.
Please note: Our meeting time has changed from morning to afternoon as shown below. Also, we will now be meeting in the large room at the Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre which is directly off the small kitchen. As the Centre Reception is closed on a Monday, you can enter by the gate off Fifth Ave leading to the Playcentre yard.
Annual General Meeting We will be holding our AGM at 1.00pm prior to the Information Group Meeting on Monday 7th December 2020. All are welcome to attend.
Our next meeting will be on Monday 7th December 2020 2.00pm to 4.00pm Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre 2 Fifth Avenue, Maroochydore

Guest Speaker: Mark Wischnat, Pets for Life
The Pets for Life program has been operating across the Sunshine Coast for 11 years. It's a community-based program that involves local volunteers supporting local pet owners to maintain their companion animals in their lives.
As this will be our last meeting for 2020 we will be inviting all to share in a pre-Christmas afternoon tea. If you would like to contribute you are very welcome to bring a small plate of food.
